History
How did it all start? Nha Trang Airport was built during the US-Vietnam War by the US Air Force. Naturally, at first no civil flights were involved. Military fighter jets flew from the lanes. But in April 1975 the base was captured by the army of North Vietnam and ... continued to be used for militaristic purposes. Since 1979, it was transferred to long-term lease to the Soviet, and later Russian air forces. And only since 2002, when this agreement was exhausted, the base was reconstructed for acceptance of the civil passengers arriving to the resort of Nha Trang. Cam Ran Airport was awarded international status in 2009.
