The artistic culture of the peoples of the Ancient World
As the development of any ancient societythere was a need for systematization of accumulated knowledge and transfer of experience to future generations. The first attempts were found in the rock drawings. So there was an artistic culture. This is the result of the transformation of human life and, as a consequence, the creation of historical values of the visual arts by capturing thoughts, emotions and knowledge on objects. The first improvised means on which the images were applied were stones, bones and skins of animals, the bark of trees.
Origin of artistic creativity in developmenthuman society in the opinion of historians refers to the era of the Upper Paleolithic (Stone Age). The first discovered rock paintings, belonging to that time, represent collective images of people or a separate species of animals. This indicates that the first artistic culture of antiquity was based on emotions, life experiences and impressions gathered in mental images and were reflected in the drawings.
Primitive man did not separate himself fromof the surrounding world, so the first images of that time were not copies of a particular animal, but were generalized representations of the object. This is a form of artistic-figurative thinking, formed at this stage of human development. It is on the unity of man with nature that mythology is based. Therefore, the ancient scriptures that reached us so faithfully and transparently convey the being of our ancestors.
In the process of human evolution, aabstract-logical thinking, contributing to the objective knowledge of the surrounding world and the transition from collective images to specific objects, endowed with their inherent properties and qualities. Consequently, the artistic culture of the later period brought to light works created as a result of abstracted thinking.
The art of ancient peoples was formed inthe result of military campaigns and resettlements. The artistic culture of Ancient Greece is based on the use of the experience of Aegean art and originates in the 11th-11th centuries. BC. after the Dorian resettlement.

And the first icons were brought to the territory of Ancient Rus from Byzantium.
