"Ender's Shadow": a story and biography of the author

History of creation

After writing "Ender's Games" enoughtime, before there was a new series of books about Bob. Over the years, the "Game" has become extremely popular among schoolchildren and adults. The thing was that the first part told about the boy-teenager and abounded with various action-scenes. Other books from this series could not boast of such a kind, they talked about adult heroes, and therefore did not enjoy such success.

Orson Scott Card thought about whether he couldwrite something else about adolescents. The world was so thoughtful and interesting that he did not want to leave it. The writer even thought about allowing other authors to create their stories within his world. Especially Orson Scott Card was interested in Neil Shusterman. But in the process of working with another writer, the creator of Ender realized that he was not yet ready to share his world. Then he decided to write a series about Bob himself.

A little about the main character

Bob grew up in the slums of Rotterdam.In the original this boy is called Bean. And this is perceived by most of his friends and acquaintances as a nickname rather than a real name. Bob can not boast of rich information about his parents or other relatives. He is left to himself.

Orson Scott Card was born in the USA in the city of Richland.After graduation, he decided to continue his education and become a philologist. Then he entered the university in Utah. After receiving a bachelor's degree, Orson did not stop and became a master. Along with this, and after the end of his student life Card worked as a literary critic. But only reviews of other people's books did not bring him any money, no glory, no satisfaction. Then he decided to leave the old job.

Having freed himself from the duties of criticism, the writerbecame a volunteer and went to Brazil. There he lived for three years, and then decided to return to Utah. His new post was much closer to literary creation - he began to write for the local theater. But this position did not bring enough money either. And soon, and at all, Card was out of work when the theater closed.

The fear of bankruptcy made Orson ScottKarda write the first book about Ender. It surprisingly quickly became popular. Thus began to be born the whole world in which Ender and his comrades live. Card has already written many books, including the "Ender's Shadow". Orson Card is now not only a writer, but also a screenwriter. He helps to adapt his own books to the screen version.
