Airport "Belgorod" appeared on the territory of Russiain 1954. At that time, active transportation to distant parts of the city required medical workers and postal correspondence. It was at that time that the Kursk squadron was moved to the city to help local residents from remote areas. The airport had several types of airships, designed for two seats. The planes were single-engine, and the landing was made on the ground strips. The operating personnel, pilots and employees of the structure lived on the territory of the airport in small houses.
