Interpersonal conflicts areconflicts that arise in the sphere of people in the process of their psychological and social interaction. Based on this understanding, it becomes clear that in any society the probability of their occurrence is quite large. Especially if you take into account what are the causes of interpersonal conflicts and their typology.

The prerequisites for their occurrence can be divided into three large groups:

  • psychological;
  • personal;
  • socio-psychological.

The psychological causes of conflicts lead to the formation of incompatibility. This phenomenon occurs when:

  • there are contradictions in the life goals, motives, ideals, outlook, values;
  • ideological, political, vital and other attitudes do not coincide;
  • people do not combine according to the type of temperament and character.

Interpersonal conflicts can arise due to personal reasons, which are based on the individual psychological features of their participants. Such prerequisites can lead to their appearance:

  • the participants in the conflict evaluate the behavior of the other (s) as unacceptable and incorrect;
  • some people have a low level of communication competence - they do not consider it necessary to see a way out of this or that conflict situation;
  • among personal qualities, one should distinguish that which hinders communication: an insufficient level of psychological stability, an understated or overestimated level of aspiration;
  • the presence of a choleric type of temperament among the participants in the conflict, or the excessive expression of certain traits of character.

The third group of causes of conflict, socio-psychological, is very large. Among the main reasons are the following:

  1. distortion and loss of information in the situation of interpersonal communication;
  2. roles in the process of interaction of people are incorrectly balanced, that is, someone begins to feel discomfort in communicating with the other (s);
  3. There are different ways of assessing the personality and activities of another person, as well as value orientations;
  4. it is possible that there are complex interpersonal relationships, the desire of someone to power, and incompatibility.

Types of interpersonal conflicts can be distinguished in accordance with several classifications.

The most common is the typology of the field of application, according to which the following are distinguished:

  • conflict in public places (on the street, in a store, public transport, etc.);
  • family,
  • conflict in the organization.

Interpersonal conflicts can also be divided intothe motivation of the behavior of its participants. Resource conflicts are singled out, when people "divide" what is necessary for human survival. Valuable conflicts are connected with the existence of mutually exclusive cultural stereotypes, beliefs, beliefs, assessments and attitudes.

Interesting enough is the classification by the criterion of truth and falsity. In accordance with it, we can distinguish:

  • random conflict, when negative interaction arose in accordance with easily changing causes;
  • a genuine conflict exists and can often "drag out";
  • about the displaced form it is possible to speak when the real conflict is hidden by another, invisible;
  • latent conflict can be in a "sleeping" state for a long time, but sooner or later it must either disappear or grow into an authentic one;
  • A false version exists because of mistakes in understanding and perception.

When resolving any variant with a base positionwill be what all participants need to sit down at the "negotiating table". In the event that people try to explain themselves constructively and agree among themselves, interpersonal conflicts can be resolved.
