The year of foundation of the group is 1994. Then the guitar leader of one of the German bands, Richard Cruspe, tried to combine the classical sound of hard rock with the style of industrial, which was gaining momentum at that time. His followers were vocalist Till Lindemann, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christophe Schneider, and a year after the founding - the second guitarist Paul Landers and keyboardist named Christian Lorenz.
